Yesterday 13 new students were trained in Dog First Aid.
With thousands of dogs kept as pets around the Bailiwick the GSPCA yesterday the second session was held and 13 new dog first aiders spent the morning learning their ABC for dogs to what to do if they had a seizure.
The group enjoyed not only learning about what to do but also got a chance to meet Mickey a Basset Hound who is at the Shelter and made a very good model and let those taking part find the heart beat.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said ‘We have been holding a number of training sessions at the Shelter and it has been great to see how well they have been received.’
‘Even if the training just helps one dog it will have made a difference.’
‘We have pleanty of other courses coming up and for information just check out our website page www.gspca.org.gg/services/training-courses.’
The next dog and cat first aid sessions are to be held in May and to find out more information please go to www.gspca.org.gg/services/training-courses
