Active Group has hosted its first breakfast seminar of this year on the subject of data protection. Sixty attendees heard from Rachel Masterton of the Data Protection Commission on the legislative requirements in Guernsey and were the first to view the updated Guidance On International Transfers which was launched at the seminar. Brendon Norman-Ross, Director of Compliance at Active Group, followed by giving practical guidance on how to comply with the requirements and Peter Stahelin, Senior Associate at AFR Advocates, provided colourful illustrations of cases where data protection errors have occurred.
Jo Carré, Product and Services Director of Active Group, said “It is important to Active Group to offer relevant, interesting and varied subjects at its breakfast seminars that give attendees a valuable learning experience. The interest in this seminar was extensive which reaffirmed the demand for this topic to be addressed. We were very fortunate to have both Rachel and Peter agree to participate in the seminar alongside Brendon, as their knowledge in their respective fields is of the highest standard.”
