Airtel-Vodafone has appointed a new Head of Marketing with responsibility for the Channel Islands. Sitting on the Senior Management Team, Peter Zunino comes into the business with a long track record of marketing in a variety of business sectors.
Ian Campbell, Chief Operating Officer for Airtel-Vodafone, commented on the appointment: ‘This role is a key one for our business. We felt it was essential to secure a professional marketer with wide experience and a comprehensive understanding of integrated marketing. Peter also understands the importance of innovation within the telecommunications industry.’
His new responsibilities include the pan-island management of the Airtel-Vodafone brand, managing relationships with global partners Airtel and Vodafone and creating and delivering marketing and public relations strategic plans. His specialist skills include integrated marketing strategy and communications, marketing campaign project management and planning and presentation skills.
Talking about his new role Peter said: ‘It is a marketing professional’s ambition to get to work with a global brand at some point in their career and I now have the opportunity to work with two. The partnership of Airtel with Vodafone has created a dynamic and innovating business that never stands still; the kind of challenge I relish. I look forward to playing a significant role in further extending customer reach and bringing the latest mobile technology to both Islands.’
Peter has worked for two of the Channel Islands largest PR & advertising agencies gaining experience of marketing some of the Island’s most well know brands locally, nationally and internationally at both Wallace Barnaby and most recently at Image Group, where he led the Airtel-Vodafone account as Account Director.
Peter is married and has two children and his interests include playing golf and, as you might expect from someone with a proud Italian heritage, cooking.
