On Wednesday the 16th May we held our fourth Volunteer Induction Evening at the GSPCA of 2014.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and Darren Monday were on hand to talk to the 7 new volunteers about the work of the Shelter and induct the keen new volunteers about the procedures and protocols at the Animal Shelter.
Some were interested in helping fund raise, others clean kennels, walk dogs, socialise cats and even those doing their Duke of Edinburgh.
On Friday 6th June staff from the GSPCA will be in the Smith Street Pop Up Shop during Volunteers Week to talk about volunteering and our next Induction Evening is Wednesday 2nd July.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said ‘We had a lovely evening on Wednesday talking to the new volunteers all of which said they had a nice evening and are very keen to help.’
‘The next Volunteer Induction Evening is on the 2nd July but if anyone wants to help with any of our fund raising events they can drop me an email or call us for a chat on 01481 257261.’
‘We have well over 300 volunteers that help us at the GSPCA through the year, some giving up half hour on our flag day to those that help every week care for the animals at the Shelter and we appreciate every minute as it all helps us ensure we can do so much to help animals in Guernsey.’
