Black Vanilla Consolidates Presence in Events Market

Guernsey’s corporate and private events market has a new player, with the launch of Black Vanilla Events. Headed up by Suzy Hilton, an experienced event organiser and marketer, the consultancy will offer a full scope of entertainment organisation. Suzy has joined forces with Jade Isabelle, Managing Director of Black Vanilla Ltd, to strengthen and build this side of their business.

Whilst the last few years have seen some corporates cut back on their event and entertainment budgets, 2014’s positive economic start has seen a renewed interest in this marketing sector. Suzy Hilton feels the new Black Vanilla Events offering is poised to take advantage of this uplift. ‘An event is an ideal way to gain new business or to show your appreciation of your existing clients and strengthen your relationships. It can also be held as a staff motivational exercise. It is an opportunity to reach out and entertain, promote, reinforce, retain, rebrand or relaunch.  However an event is used, it is a tool under an organisation’s complete ownership and control to communicate in a personal way that advertising alone cannot.  Following a period of marketing abstinence, an event is a multi-faceted, guaranteed approach to really showcase your business,’ she said.

Suzy previously worked for the Long Port Group. Her 10-year tenure in the marketing and sales team honed her event organisation skills.  In particular Suzy masterminded an annual charitable sailing week, which involved bringing over classic yachts to the island for the benefit of over 500 disadvantaged children and young adults. Alongside that challenge, Suzy organised fundraising balls, high-profile entertainment events and corporate dinners and seminars.

Black Vanilla Events takes a client focused, strategic approach, helping to develop the right vehicles to meet the brief and budgets. Suzy will take on every stage of the project, from creative inception to follow up reports with feedback from the attendees, so companies can evaluate the merits of the exercise.

Suzy also anticipates that her corporate clients will be joined by private contracts. ‘Working with individuals still means taking a creative yet highly organised approach, but private clients also want a very discreet service, which is something Black Vanilla Events is able to guarantee.’
