Channel Islands IT Consultancy C5 Alliance will be hosting breakfast seminars this week where Sam Solieman, a Microsoft Partner Technology Advisor, will discuss recent developments in Microsoft’s product range and explore the benefits that its new functionality can offer to local businesses.
2012 has been described by Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, as its ‘biggest year’, in terms of the launch of new products – including Windows 8 – and the development of existing programs in the Microsoft suite, with major upgrades to Office and Windows Server Exchange.
Mr Solieman will explore the business benefits of Windows Server 2012 and Systems Center 2012, along with exploring how cloud computing technologies – such as Windows Azure – can be used to optimise businesses.
He will be joined by senior consultant Rob Thorpe of C5 Alliance, who will discuss the practicalities involved when upgrading a business server’s operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 or 8.
Following the speakers there will be a demonstration of Windows Server 2012 and SCCM (Systems Center 2012 Configuration Manager) by C5 consultants – Paul Shell in Guernsey and Pawel Dolny and David Scambler in Jersey. The consultants will also explore compatibility with portable devices such as the new Microsoft Surface tablet and Windows 8 phones.
Rob Leader, chief operating officer at C5 Alliance said:
“C5 Alliance is a Microsoft Gold Partner Company and we have many consultants with specialisms in Microsoft’s product range. It is only fitting that we acknowledge the recent developments with this seminar and help to assist local businesses with getting the best out of their technology.”
The seminars are aimed at financial services industry professionals, particularly business and technical decision makers and will be held on Tuesday 06 November in the Colborne Room at the Old Government House Hotel in Guernsey and on Wednesday 07 November in La Petite Pomme restaurant at the Pomme d’Or Hotel in Jersey from 8.00 am until 09.30 am.
Places at the seminars are free of charge but advanced online booking is required at: http://www.c5alliance.com
