The Business Intelligence (BI) team at Channel Island IT consultancy C5 Alliance has achieved the Microsoft Gold Business Intelligence competency – the highest level of proficiency awarded by Microsoft.

The accolade is given to companies that demonstrate ‘best-in-class’ capabilities and requires a lengthy and thorough approval process.

Along with six separate employees gaining the testing BI certification, the competency also requires the company to receive five separate customer references for successful systems and implement a yearly customer satisfaction feedback survey.

C5’s growing BI team, spearheaded by director Dan Hare, is among just 26 businesses UK-wide who have achieved the competency.

“It has taken a tremendous amount of dedication from the entire team to complete the process, but it is very worthwhile.  We have a very strong and growing team and this accreditation is evidence of our local expertise in providing automated platforms for our clients to support better decisions, reduce manual work and eradicate inconsistent data. I am very proud of our achievement of being the only BI Gold Partner in the Channel Islands, which sits well with our SharePoint Gold Certification.” said Mr Hare.

The consultancy’s Business Intelligence team now consists of nine full-time developers catering to the growing demand for creative solutions in businesses across the Channel Islands.  The team’s size allows for work with multiple clients who benefit from industry and technical best practice.

“Companies increasingly need to process and analyse huge amounts of data for a number for purposes, including decision support and regulatory requirements. This has increased the demand for BI solutions and we are constantly adding to our offering to meet this.

“The Gold competency is more than a badge of honour in this sense; it also equips us with access to further software, tools, and training to help improve our service,” said Mr Hare.

In November Mr Hare will be attending the week-long PASS Conference in Seattle, Microsoft’s foremost business intelligence conference.

“Our Gold competency will be crucial in being able to meet the leading Microsoft decision makers and hence provide further strategic advice to our clients,” he said.
