A charity shoot organised by the Clay Pigeon Shooting Club has raised nearly £1500 for the Channel Islands Air Search (CIAS).
Dave Best from the Club organised the shoot in Talbot Valley and over 30 people turned up to the event. Money collected from the shooters, along with a substantial donation was made by the Best family to the CIAS.
Dave Best said: We had a real cross-section of people who came along, from experienced club members to people who didn’t even know what a clay pigeon looked like and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.’
Colin Ferbrache, Chief Officer of CIAS said: ‘We’re delighted with the amount raised which will help with our plans to acquire a new aircraft. As a charity we are completely reliant on the goodwill of islanders for our funds and I would like to thank Dave for organising the event and to everyone who came along on the day and supported us.’
