Aonghus Fraser, business process team leader at Channel Island IT consultancy C5 Alliance, will be speaking at the upcoming SharePoint Saturday event on 8 December in Nottingham.
Now in its third year, the annual event brings together SharePoint professionals to discuss a variety of topics relating to the software platform and is the largest of its kind in the UK. The conference is open to the public and is made up of seven tracks to cater for different levels – including developers, IT professionals and information workers – and consists of over 35 sessions in total. This year’s is expected to have over 350 attendees.
Mr Fraser’s presentation will discuss the relationship between SharePoint and business intelligence, exploring how the improvements in business intelligence technology offered by Microsoft SQL 2012 can be readily accessed through SharePoint 2010.
“I will use real world examples to help illustrate the presentation and hope that there will be something for everybody. The applications of SharePoint from an end-user’s perspective are phenomenal; it makes high-end business intelligence solutions self-service and accessible – no longer solely the domain of software developers and IT professionals.
“This is a big event for SharePoint and it is great to be representing the Channel Islands. It has already reached capacity and those interested will now have to join a waiting list, which is real evidence of the increasing interest in the platform,” he said.
As the lead SharePoint consultant at C5 Alliance, Mr Fraser has a wealth of experience in this field and delivers solutions to financial institutions, legal firms and local government. Earlier this year, he spoke at the International SharePoint Conference London and has been invited back to speak at the SharePoint Evolution Conference next year.
