Employee engagement is raising its profile in the UK, with the publication last week of compelling evidence from the Government-driven Engagement Task Force. The findings clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of employee engagement in driving performance and productivity for the UK economy. This is further supported by Engage for Success (www.engageforsuccess.org) which is a body dedicated to growing awareness about the power and potential of employee engagement.
The local CIPD Branch is fortunate to have Nita Clarke speak at its 2012 Conference on the subject of engagement. She was Vice Chair of the MacLeod Review on employee engagement and continues to work with David MacLeod and the Department for Business on implementing the report’s recommendations. Nita was formerly the adviser on trade unions to Prime Minister Tony Blair, working as Assistant Political Secretary at 10 Downing Street from 2001 to 2007.
The Conference has reached full capacity with over 105 delegates from the business world attending, making this one of the biggest events in the local CIPD’s calendar this year.
Janine Lane, Chair of the local CIPD Branch says “We are absolutely delighted to have had such a fantastic reaction to the conference and to be able to bring this exciting opportunity to the island. The local CIPD Branch hopes that it will help inspire businesses to stay ahead of the game, and continue to prove ourselves as an innovative, progressive business environment for the future. We are looking forward to hearing Nita, as well as case studies from Waitrose, Ernst & Young and insights both from Chief Minister Peter Harwood and Mick Lynch. The latter is known to many on the island for his work on Investors on People, and all of these speakers offer a superb wealth of knowledge and expertise.”
Sponsor, Jessica Roland (Partner and Head of Employment at Mourant Ozannes) said, “We are delighted to be involved in the event, and to be speaking alongside a top class panel of industry experts.”
The morning event takes place on the 30th November at the Old Government House Hotel from 08:00 until 13:00.
Please contact Tammy Lodge (Public Relations Officer) if you would like to schedule time to interview any of the speakers in person, or if you have any questions relating to the event.
