The Channel Islands leading mobile phone operator is once again backing the Cobo Bay Balcony Gigs as part of its commitment to community-centric initiatives across the islands.
JT has supported the Cobo Bay gigs for a number of years in an effort to bring free live music to Guernsey and this is just one example of the investment in the community that the company is making in Guernsey and Jersey in parallel.
The 2014 programme of events starts on Sunday 20th April 2014 with a Pink Floyd inspired performance from Elysium supported by The Little Big Band from Jersey. They will be followed by a sunset gig headlined by “No Paparazzi” and organisers are also promising a light and laser show including pyrotechnics to finish off the day.
JT (Guernsey) Deputy Managing Director, Tamara O’Brien said: “We’re delighted to continue to support the Cobo Balcony Gigs which have become a major part of Guernsey summers. Our support means these events remain free and accessible for all, and the mix of Guernsey, Jersey and international artists performing this year is really quite impressive. As well as creating excellent entertainment for all the family, the event also raises funds for local causes including the Guernsey Cheshire Home and Autism Guernsey which is JT’s chosen charity.”
David Nussbaumer, organiser of The Cobo Bay Balcony Gigs, said: “Our partnership with JT means that we can continue to bring some world-class performers to Guernsey and at the same time support local artists in bringing their music to a wider audience. We are grateful for their continued support and see their contribution to our events are making a real difference to the island. The balcony gigs bring a real carnival atmosphere to the Island and we are really looking forward to them kicking off at Easter.”
