Could you get a team for the Giant Animal Mascot It’s a Knock Out Race for the GSPCA and Help a Guernsey Child

| August 15, 2014 | 0 Comments

Once again we will be holding a Giant Animal Mascot Race during our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on 14th September, but this year there are a few twists.

This is open to groups and individuals prepared to dress as an animal.

We are looking for businesses, pubs, individuals or anyone as a team of 4 or an individual to join in the fun.

Don’t worry about what to wear as we will provide the Giant Animal Mascot suit.

To join in the team race which will be a little like ‘It’s A Knockout’ we are asking for a minimum donation of £300 per team or if you would like to race individually it is a minimum sponsorship of £100.

All the money raised will go towards helping animals and children in Guernsey.

This sponsorship will cover the cost of the animal outfit, an advert in our next Newsletter, be featured on our web site, allow you to put a banner up on the day and be part of a fun fund raising event.

We are looking to get anyone we can involved and for the children in fancy dress they can also have a race.

We would also love to hear from schools that may like to get involved.

Pictures of the suits can be seen by clicking here.

Corporate sponsors and businesses get to choose their suits or if they wish to provide their own it must be an animal and we still require the application form completed with the minimum sponsorship.

There are lots of events happening during the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday from a fun dog show, arts and crafts stalls, live music, bouncy castles, kids games, food stalls, picture competitions, doggy dancing and much more…..

This is the third year the event has taken place and in previous years we have seen Bernard, Daniel the Island FM Donkey and Roary the GFC Lion and over 70 other competitors.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “This years Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 14th September is already planned to be bigger and better with more stalls and things happening including a Military Parade as part of the Battle of Britain Week and a Power Boat Parade.”

“The Giant Animal Mascot Race is always a highlight for many as normally sensible individuals dress up as a giant animal and get involved with all the fun racing to entertain the crowds.”

“Last year the finalists were both running on behalf of the Best of Guernsey and we hope to get many more involved this year to help raise funds for animals and children in Guernsey.”

“It is great to be working with another local charity, that being Help a Guernsey Child and that Island FM are the media partner in supporting the event.”
