PLAYERS keen to take part in the Fund Corporation Guernsey Squash Senior Open 2013 have until Monday 11 February to get their entries in.
The event, which is being sponsored by Fund Corporation in association with Trust Corporation, is taking place at Beau Sejour Centre from Friday 22 through to Sunday 24 February.
Individuals have the chance to compete in either the Men’s A, B or C events or the Ladies’ A or B.
Paul Everitt, managing director of Fund Corporation, said: “Every year the island’s Squash Senior Open attracts a wide range of players at various levels and abilities. This year we’re looking forward to seeing some of Fund Corporation and Trust Corporation’s staff pick up their rackets to compete as well.
“Not only is it a chance to compete alongside top talent from outside of Guernsey but it is also an opportunity to showcase some of the island’s most skilled squash players,” said Mr Everitt.
More than 40 participants took part in the event last year and Ben Rosec and Lara Harvey won the top trophies in the Men’s A and Ladies’ A events respectively. It is hoped that this year’s event will attract competitors from Jersey and the UK.
Tournament director Martin Watts said: “Each year we receive a fantastic turnout of players but this year we’re really keen to see more participants from outside of Guernsey. This enables us to help develop some of our local players as well as making an exciting tournament. We would like to thank Fund Corporation and Trust Corporation for their continued support.”
Entry forms are available from Beau Sejour and should be returned to Martin Watts by no later than Monday 11 February.
