THREE staff at Butterfield Bank are celebrating achieving professional qualifications.

Andrea Anderson, a management accountant with the bank, has recently become chartered after completing her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification. She began studying for these exams in 1998, having completed her Association of Accounting Technicians qualification, and then resumed her studies with support from Butterfield when she joined the bank in 2007.

Matt Gilligan, a trust administrator with the bank for the past three years, has completed his Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma six months ahead of schedule, also passing each module first time.

As well as being a member of STEP, Mr Gilligan is also the student liaison officer for the society in Guernsey. He intends to go on to complete a new offering from STEP, a BSc (Hons) in Management with Trusts and Estates from the University of Manchester.

Andy Phillippe works as a supervisor in information technology and project management operations having started his career with Butterfield in 2008 with the trust team. He has completed the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Certificate in Offshore Finance and Administration.

Butterfield Managing Director, John Robinson said ‘Undertaking professional qualifications is something we have always encouraged in our staff and this has been rewarded by a high level of achievement at all levels within Butterfield.’
