US lawyer Suzanne Reisman will tell Guernsey trust professionals how the FATCA net is tightening at STEP’s evening lecture this month.
Suzanne, a US international private client and charities tax lawyer based in London, will update delegates on FATCA and IGAs, expatriation issues relating to trusts and pensions and current US gift and estate tax issues at the event on 6 February.
She will also discuss dealing with the non-compliant US client, including voluntary and involuntary disclosures, at the Collas Crill sponsored event.
Angela Calnan, partner and head of Collas Crill’s Guernsey Trusts and Foundations team said: “The US regulatory framework has placed a very heavy burden on financial services businesses in Guernsey but many of our trustee clients on the Island have and are working hard to put systems in place to enable us to continue to be open for business for US-connected clients and families.
“Suzanne’s round-up is most welcome indeed and I am sure will be delivered in her usual clear and lively style.”
Suzanne’s practice was named “Boutique Firm of the Year” 2010/2011 by the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners. She has been recognised as a “leader in her named field” by Chambers and Partners (UK) and Chambers & Partners Global, as one of Legal Week’s the top 100 Elite International & Private Client Attorneys (2013), as one of London’s “Superlawyers” and was named “Woman of the Year” at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards (2010) for her achievements as a private client lawyer.
The lecture takes place at Old Government House Hotel on 6 February 2014, at 5.30pm.
