GAC’s arts grants scheme funds arts projects and events that engage residents in the Bailiwick of Guernsey and adds to the cultural offer to both locals and visitors. Proposals are welcomed from a range of art forms including theatre, creative writing, dance, music, photography, visual arts, craft, festivals and films.
This year, Guernsey Arts Commission’s Funding Sub-Committee are also offering bands a chance to come forward for a grant towards recording, promotion or any other activity that would help them get to the next stage of their development.
Ollie Smith, Hartebeest band member, says “We put our first track on Soundcloud 9 months ago and 100,000 plays later, we just wanted to once again thank Guernsey Arts Commission for their continued support. It’s cool to have people as passionate about what you do as you are. We look forward to working together in the future.”
Anyone interested in applying for an arts grant from Guernsey Arts Commission can come along to either of two funding information sessions on Wednesday 16 July and Thursday 14 August at 6pm in the gallery at the Information Centre. These free sessions will cover how the scheme runs and give potential applicants a chance to talk through their ideas and ask questions. The next deadline for applications is Sunday 31 August. Further details about eligibility, previously supported projects, guidance and forms are available on www.arts.gg or call Carrie on 01481 709748.
