Guernsey FC and Fusion Nightclub will be giving away 3000 ‘clap-banners’ at GFC’s historic FA Carlsberg Vase Semi-Final 1st leg against Spennymoor Town on Saturday 23 March.

Fans will be given the noisemakers on their arrival at Footes Lane for the 3pm kick off and the ‘clap-banners’ are set to make the atmosphere even more electric for the big game.

Guernsey FC Chairman, Steve Dewsnip said: “I would personally like to thank Fusion Nightclub and Adam Burroughs for their generous sponsorship of the clap-banners.

“I’ve seen them in action before and with 3000 set to be used at ‘The Lane’, they’re going to make the atmosphere really special. I want to urge all fans to pick one up on their way in on Saturday afternoon, so they can do the job they’re there for!”

Fusion Nightclub’s Adam Burroughs said: “We’ve already supported the club in this historic run in the FA Carlsberg Vase by giving away 100 free tickets for the quarter final replay against Walsall Wood FC.

“It was a great success so it was an easy decision to make an even bigger commitment to the club for the semifinal. The ‘clap-banners are right up our street. It’s great to be able to make a huge contribution to the atmosphere at Footes Lane.”

Fusion Nightclub is also giving away 200 tickets to this Saturday’s semifinal tie and donating a bottle of champagne to the man of the match. 100 tickets will be given away through fans liking and sharing the Fusion Nightclub Facebook competition and 100 will be given out in the nightclub on Friday night. Fusion will also be announcing details of its plans to screen the second leg of the semifinal live in the nightclub on the afternoon of Saturday 30 March.

The green banners will bear both the club’s and the nightclub’s logos along with the #3000Fans campaign hash tag for Twitter that GFC is using in the run up to the game. The famous #COYGL hash tag will also be on the banner.

As well as GFC’s web address there will also be lyrics to one of the fans’ favourite songs, We Are The Guernsey Boys (sung to the tune of The Beach Boys’ Sloop John B) printed on the cardboard noisemaker too.
