The Director of Fiduciary Services at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, Philip Nicol-Gent, has been recognised for the excellent contribution he makes as Sub-Lieutenant, (SCC) Royal Navy Reserve working with Guernsey’s Sea Cadet Corps.
Mr Nicol-Gent was awarded the 2011 National Officer Selection Board trophy at a ceremony in London last month.
The award, which is given to the officer who achieves the highest marks of all the National Officer Selection Board candidates, was presented by the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants which maintains links to the Sea Cadets Corps.
Mr Nicol-Gent is the Executive Officer of TS Sarnia which provides 40 Royal Navy and Royal Marine cadets, aged between 10 and 18, which provides essential training in boating and other activities, and gives them the opportunity to learn leadership skills.
Mr Nicol-Gent said that the Commission has been supportive of his contribution.
Director-General Nik van Leuven said: “We value all our staff, and support them appropriately in their development. We believe this conduces to a more motivated team, and congratulate Philip on his success.”
