The Sixth Form Centre’s annual Team Building Day has again taken place at the Scout Headquarters at Rue Mainguy. Over 265 new Year 12 students enjoyed a fun-filled day involving a variety of physical and mental challenges testing their creativity and problem-solving skills.
The event, now in its sixth year, is sponsored by RBC Wealth Management and has proved an ideal way for the new sixth formers to get to know each other. Kieran James, Director of Sixth Form Studies, said “With around half the island’s 16 year olds starting their post-compulsory education at the Sixth Form Centre, this is a fantastic opportunity for them to form new friendships and renew old ones. A team-building day at the start of term is enormously beneficial in helping everyone to get to know each other in a fun, social setting.”
Alan Hunt, a member of RBC Wealth Management’s Leadership Team, attended the day along with other staff who were once themselves students at the Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre. “This is the third year we have sponsored the event” he explained. “We believe it’s a great chance for the young people of the island to come together and build new friendships through team work. It has been a fun-packed and enjoyable day”.
