GRANITE Le Pelley has produced a comprehensive guide on stone supply and design – the first time one been put together for the Channel Islands.
The 28-page guide is designed to give the stonemasonry industry a detailed overview of the different types of stone available, their application, appearance and performance and give a better understanding of the various stone facades available.
Granite Le Pelley was established in 1982 and is now the Channel Islands’ leading stone company. The company specialises in the design and detailing, procurement and installation of natural and cast stone for private, commercial and public buildings and over the last 30 years have worked on some of the islands’ most impressive developments.
‘Building techniques and products continue to evolve but the traditional use of granite is still very popular in the Channel Islands. It had become obvious that there wasn’t anything available locally which contained all the information people might need to know and so we felt that the time was right to bring together our team’s knowledge into one guide which would be of benefit to all those involved in the building industry,’ said managing director Phil Le Roy.
The guide is aimed at those purchasing or using stone and has been sent to an extensive mailing list, which includes architects, building contractors, engineers, surveyors and stonemasons. It can also be found on the Granite Le Pelley website at www.granitelepelley.gg or www.granitelepelley.je
