The MitonOptimal Group (‘MitonOptimal’) is proud to announce its support for the Guernsey branch of the Parkinson’s UK charity.

In an extension of its existing sponsorship of Guernsey FC player, Matt Loaring, asset management firm MitonOptimal will donate £25 for each goal scored by the ‘Green Lions’ forward during the 2013/2014 season, with a minimum contribution of £400. This is the latest in a number of initiatives supporting local sports clubs and charitable organisations by the company.

Mark Margetts-Smith, Group Head of Marketing for MitonOptimal, said, ‘Guernsey is very fortunate to have a lot of individuals and companies who are very willing and able to get involved in supporting local and international charities, and we are proud to assist where we can. This initiative also has the full support of Matt and Guernsey FC; it is pleasing to see Guernsey FC players involving themselves with their local community and giving something back to the island they proudly represent, and we are delighted to play our part in this.’

Penny Sarchet, a Committee Member of the Guernsey branch of the Parkinson’s UK Charity, said how grateful she was to Matt Loaring, and to MitonOptimal for its commitment of a minimum donation of £400 for the 2013/2014 season, as the branch has to raise all its own funds.

The funds raised by the continued generosity of the people of Guernsey help us in offering support to the Bailiwick’s 200+ people living with Parkinson’s, through a range of support programmes aimed at both sufferers and their carers, she continued. Support that includes purchasing equipment to help people challenged with Parkinson’s; a Music as Therapy programme, which is at least two 10-week sessions per year, and numerous other initiatives throughout the busy year. The latest initiative for 2014 is a 10-week programme of exercise classes for sufferers, which will kick-off in January 2014. Anyone interested in giving up just a small amount of their time to support this worthwhile cause, or find out more about our events during 2014, is asked to contact Penny Sarchet at pennyandphil@cwgsy.net or on 01481 241118.
