Guernsey STEP students to receive ‘lessons in litigation’

STEP Guernsey students and trust administrators will receive Lessons in Litigation at the Collas Crill sponsored lunchtime lecture this month (June).

The speaker, AFR Advocates’ senior partner and STEP committee member Advocate Mark Ferbrache, will provide attendees with advice on how to avoid problems in the first place and then consider and how to deal with them cost effectively when they do. Advocate Ferbrache will also provide a review of recent legal developments.

The lecture will cover issues including costs, case management and alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration. Legal developments under discussion will include recent case law, Supreme Court decisions, the increased focus on tax avoidance and exchange of information and FATCA and the recent intergovernmental agreements.
