The second seminar in ICSA’s 2014 educational programme is a lunchtime session investigating the changes in Corporate Governance and the Listing Rules for companies listed on the London Stock Exchange that came into effect on 1 October 2013.
Speakers ICSA Guernsey Branch Vice-Chairman Sara Bourne and PricewaterhouseCooper’s Stephanie Coxon will review the recent changes, how these have been implemented to date and the pitfalls being identified by auditors.
Sara Bourne has over 12 years company secretarial experience in a fund administration environment, she is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and has an MSc in Corporate Governance. Stephanie Coxon is a senior manager at PwC Guernsey with over 8 years of experience, having worked in Sydney and the Channel Islands. Stephanie specialises in the asset management industry, predominantly on private equity funds and listed debt funds.
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Bailiwick of Guernsey Branch, 2014 programme includes monthly professional development seminars, industry updates and events for ICSA members and students and other island industry professionals.
Branch chairman Tom Lancaster-King said: “Our second seminar for 2014, Corporate Governance and Listing Rule changes, continues the theme for the year as firms strive to balance regulatory requirements with good governance practises.
The theme continues at the third annual ICSA Guernsey Conference “Getting the Balance Right” on 30 April and throughout the year the Branch will host CPD talks on popular subjects including tax, funds and trusts. We will also look at developments including technology in the boardroom and financial crime.
A series of technical workshops in the autumn in collaboration with Collas Crill will focus on the needs of our students and new members.”
