Such is the appeal of the people, the lifestyle and the beauty of the island that prompt either interest, a visit or a more permanent relocation thanks to the successful series.
Leading Guernsey estate agents Swoffers have reported that Island Hospital has sparked a significant spike in visits to their web site www.swoffers.co.uk and phone calls enquiring about property. Swoffers figures show that following the Friday programmes web visits have doubled. One of the agents Directors, Andre Austin is featuring in this week’s episode.
ITV describes the series as shining a light on the beautiful Bailiwick of Guernsey, a group of Channel Islands with the charm of rural France and the reassuring familiarity of Britain. At the heart of the community is the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, which serves the 66,000 residents. The 12 part series is exploring every side of island life through the eyes of the staff who work at the hospital and the patients receiving expert care.
