Stuart Platt-Ransom, Legis Group

Stuart Platt-Ransom, group managing director of Legis Group is the only Guernsey individual selected to be shortlisted in the ‘Outstanding Individual of the Year’ category at the 2013 Citywealth Magic Circle Awards.

The awards, which have been an established presence in the wealth calendar for the past seven years, bring together a top level group of the elite of advisors and managers in the international wealth industry. This category is designed to highlight individuals who have made a major contribution to their organisation, demonstrating a formidable and clear strategy and a successful execution of that strategy.

Mr Platt-Ransom assumed responsibility for the Legis Group in July 2007 and during this time has transformed the business into one of the largest and most highly rated independent financial services firms in Guernsey. In 2011 Mr Platt-Ransom successfully led a management buyout of the Legis Group from its previous owners and since this time has implemented a strategy that has enabled year-on-year growth despite difficult global economic times.

Under Mr Platt-Ransom’s charge, the Legis Group has become a best of breed independent, evidenced by the organisation receiving a number of industry specific accolades in the last 12 months.

Recognised in the recent Citywealth Leaders List in the ‘Leading Trustees – Honours List’ category, Mr Platt-Ransom is committed to raising management standards within Legis by ensuring all employees are motivated and engaged with an understanding of the organisation’s goals.

Charles Parkinson, Chairman of the Legis Group, said:
“Legis Group has undergone a number of substantial changes in recent years and Stuart has been the driving force behind every aspect of our growth and success. We are privileged to boast a very talented senior management team and it is great to see this consistently recognised.”

Citywealth editor Karen Jones said: “Stuart has demonstrated that he has a head for business and strategy in a difficult market. These attributes are what the Citywealth judges recognise and seek to reward in 2013.”

Earlier this year, Alison Parry, managing director of trust and corporate was also recognised with the ‘Women in Wealth’ award at the Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards 2013.

Voting for the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards takes places online and is now open and available to view at www.citywealthmag.com/awards.

Voting closes on 26th April and the judges will then cast their final votes for winners in each category. The online voting carries the “weight” of one additional judge. Winners will be announced at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards on 16th May 2013 in London at The Landmark Hotel.
