Livingroom and PF+A have launched a new competition open to anyone with a brilliant idea as to how Guernsey could be improved.
I am Guernsey is open to anyone with a passion for Guernsey and wants to contribute to making Guernsey the best place to live. Entrants do not need to be a designer or work in a creative industry to enter. It is open to anyone with a fantastic designed concept whether it is the biosphere, infrastructure, maritime, agriculture, horticulture, architecture or anything else.
I am Guernsey is open to two age groups: under 18 years old and over 18 years old. Anyone with an idea is eligible to enter. All entries need to be submitted digitally and needn’t be submitted using design software; scanned images of hand drawings will be accepted.
The competition opened on Monday, 2 June and closes on Friday 10 October 2014. The two winners will be announced on Friday, 17 October 2014.
I am Guernsey has been launched on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/iamguernsey?fref=ts), Twitter @iamguernsey and Pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com/iamguernsey/).
Over the course of the competition, I am Guernsey will feature design ideas from around the world that have made an impact or an improvement through the Facebook page, Pinterest and Twitter.
Livingroom managing director, Simon Torode, said I am Guernsey’s aim was to fire Guernsey people’s imaginations and make a difference to life in the island.
“Livingroom and PF+A witness daily the skills and passion islanders have for Guernsey. We see bright ideas and creative thinking and we know there are thousands of people out there who have their own ideas about what we can do to improve island life.
“We have a kindred spirit in PF+A; they’ve been providing inspiring, practical architectural solutions in Guernsey for over 20 years,” he said.
PF+A’s John Hibbs said: “I am Guernsey is more than a concept. We hope that the ideas generated in this competition will form part of planning for the future for Guernsey and we are excited to see just what entrants come up with.”
