Local PE school teacher and rising rugby star Sam Stables has received a welcome boost to his training regime with Livingroom agreeing to sponsor the player for the next year.
Sam turned from football to rugby three years ago and plays for the Guernsey Rugby Union Football Club’s (GRFC) 1st XV which is in the national league 3 – the highest level Guernsey rugby has ever achieved.
Sam said the Livingroom sponsorship would be put towards improving his equipment and his development as a player.
“Livingroom’s support means I can access specialist support including in physiotherapy and nutrition to keep me in peak condition. I am immensely grateful to Livingroom because, without the help of sponsors, Guernsey rugby would not be at the heights we are today.”
This is the second year Livingroom has chosen a rugby player to support.
Livingroom director Simon Torode said: “Sam, and Barry Goude last year, typifies the focus and drive needed to excel– that’s something we aim to do as well. We will be following Sam’s progress keenly this year and look forward to seeing the team go from strength to strength.”
