2013 Butterfield Group calendar

The sunrise over St Peter Port Harbour, a Navy boat anchored in the Little Russell and the low tide at Herm Island are the three local scenes featured in the 2013 Butterfield Group calendar.

The calendar, which is sent to thousands of the bank’s global clients and contacts, features scenic photographs from the six jurisdictions the Butterfield Group operates in including Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Switzerland, The Bahamas and the United Kingdom.

The theme of the calendar, which was suggested by the Guernsey team, is ‘moods’ inspired by the natural surroundings of the different jurisdictions.

Other photographs featured in the calendar include the sunrise on the famous Matterhorn Mountain in Switzerland, a garden full of Palm trees in the Cayman Islands and Tower Bridge in London.

The photographs were submitted by Butterfield Group employees and were judged by the bank’s head office team in Bermuda. More than 10 Guernsey employees submitted photographs for the judging this year and those taken by Ivor Bisson, Andy Nicolle and Carl Gleeson were chosen out of the selection.

John Robinson, Managing Director of Butterfield in Guernsey, said: “The photography competition for the calendar is a great opportunity for staff to demonstrate their creative photography skills and it’s a nice way of showing off the beautiful locations where Butterfield operates.

“This is the ninth year we have put together a calendar using employees’ photographs and basing it on a theme to send out to our clients and contacts around the globe, so it is a bit of a Butterfield tradition. It’s a great chance for those chosen photographers to get their images seen by people all around the world.”
