Nerine Trust boosts its senior expertise for the new decade

Guernsey News, 1 February 2010 – ONE of Guernsey’s truly home grown success stories, Nerine Group, is positioning itself for substantial growth in the next decade, appointing two people to senior positions in the thriving independent, international trust and fiduciary business.

Rob Habin has been appointed as chief operating officer for the group. Rob, a member of The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, has more than 20 years experience in the fiduciary sector having worked with several leading firms in a variety of areas including business development, client management, client accounting and systems implementation.

His appointment at Nerine underlines the firm’s focus on delivering bespoke offshore financial services to a range of corporate and private clients through the Group network of offices in Guernsey, British Virgin Islands, Switzerland and Hong Kong.

“Nerine is one of those rare entities that actually delivers what it promises, and due to staff loyalty and a culture of high quality personal service, has a longevity with clients which is the envy of many in the industry. I am delighted to be a part of it,” Mr Habin said.

Nerine Group Executive Chairman Keith Corbin said: “Rob’s appointment is one of several key developments within the group, allowing us to greet the next decade with a sense of excitement and the promise of even more success.”

Mark Brown has been appointed as senior trust manager, based in the Guernsey office. After a six year stint in the army, Mark returned to Guernsey and worked with a number of financial services organisations and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

“Mark’s breadth of experience across a variety of disciplines, including employee benefit trusts, pensions, and private client structures means he is a valuable addition to our strong team. We are delighted to welcome him and know our clients will appreciate the depth of expertise he brings with him,” Mr Corbin said.

Mr Corbin said two promotions had also been made within the business in a move designed to strengthen and expand the client administration team.

David Morris, who has been with Nerine for nine years, has been promoted to associate director with responsibility for client administration operations, while Alec Bain has been promoted to senior trust manager.

“We firmly believe in ensuring our staff are given every opportunity to progress their careers within the group, and our clients will welcome the expertise David and Alec bring to their new roles,” Mr Corbin said.
