A LEADING Channel Island marketing communications agency has made significant new hires and plans for further growth across the Channel Islands following major account wins.
Oi, the Channel Islands’ most progressive marketing communications agency, has recently hired experts across its digital and operations divisions, with more hires across its creative and marketing teams within the coming months.
Sean Davidson has joined as a Senior Developer from Sure Mobile. With over 10 years development expertise including advanced web systems programming, application and e-commerce development, Sean will be working on large e-commerce projects for the agency’s clients.
Ania Karwowska has joined as Digital Project Manager having gained significant digital marketing expertise in the financial and leisure sectors. She will be working closely with Oi’s development team managing website, e-commerce, application development projects, email and social media campaigns.
Julia Webber has been promoted within Oi to Operations Manager coordinating the smooth running of the agency’s offices, HR, systems and processes.
Established in Guernsey in 2004, Oi opened its second Jersey office in 2010 and is planning on moving to larger premises in the coming months to allow for further growth. This follows Oi’s continued success locally and in the UK, including being appointed as the retained creative and digital agency for Airtel-Vodafone in the Channel Islands, THAI Airways UK, and Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London.
‘We now have a diverse portfolio of well-established and (we’re pleased to say) successful clients across the islands and in the UK,’ said Peter Grange, Oi Managing Director.
‘To be competing against UK agencies and winning major projects like working on the launch of the five star Shangri-La Hotel at the iconic Shard building in London goes to show it’s good to think big even in the smallest of places.’
As an Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) accredited agency, adopting the latest techniques, adhering to the highest industry standards, training, and development are very important at Oi.
‘For the third year running we’re pleased to have been given Continued Professional Development status from the IPA – the trade body that represents the top 200 advertising agencies in the UK. This recognises the agency’s focus on investing heavily in training and having an ongoing, structured training program for all staff,’ said Mr Grange.
‘I’m really proud of the team at Oi and what we have all achieved to date. We have some great clients, the agency is doing great work, and we’re winning big pitches in many instances against London agencies,’ he said.
Now employing 20 staff across Jersey, Guernsey and London, Oi is optimistic about the future and believes having a good marketing agency is as essential as having a good accountant, lawyer or IT service provider for any business to be successful.
‘It’s good to see the continued trend of marketing getting closer and closer to Board rooms, where it should play a pivotal role,’ added Mr Grange.
‘After all, marketing is the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably: pretty critical to making a business successful or not.’
