Guernsey businesses will take to the streets of St Peter Port for this year’s Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management Inter-Firm Town Relay on Wednesday 6 August.
The annual race through the centre of town sees each runner complete a one mile lap starting from the top of Smith Street down the Truchot, along the Pollet, down the High Street, along the sea front, back along the Pollet and finally up Smith Street to finish.
Teams are made up of four runners and can be either all men, ladies or mixed. Entrants must be over 16 and each team must not have more than one Guernsey Island Amateur Athletic Club (GIAAC) member.
The money raised from the event will support the Island Games Athletics Team in the run up to the 2015 Island Games in Jersey.
The Butterfield Bolts took first place for the second year in a row at last year’s race with a team from Saffery Champness winning the women’s team competition and KPMG taking the mixed team prize.
Matt Atkinson, Head of Stockbroking in Guernsey, will be running in one of the Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management teams.
“Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management is pleased to sponsor the annual Inter-firm Town relay which has become an established event in the local business calendar. It gives the Guernsey business community the chance to get a bit competitive and put their running skills to the test and it’s a fitting way to support local athletes.”
Registration is at 6pm and the race starts at 6.30pm at the top of Smith Street. Entry forms are available from the GIAAC office and website or the Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management office on The Grange. Postal entries must be received by Friday 1 August 2014. Late entries can be submitted on the day.
