We are proud to announce that Parkour/Freerunning is being introduced to Guernsey for the first time by the Guernsey Sports Commission. Two coaches from Parkour Generations will be visiting the island in May to deliver a number of sessions.
The coaches will be in Guernsey on the 6th & 7th May. They will deliver adult and youth taster sessions that will be available to the public. The two coaches will also demonstrate the physical discipline to our Street Sports participants at Les Genats Estate. While on island they will also be delivering a CPD course to Guernsey teachers to enable them to deliver Parkour in our schools.
Jenny Murphy, Sports Development Officer at the Commission, said “we have received a number of enquiries relating to the introduction of Parkour/ Freerunning in Guernsey, and are excited to have two very experienced coaches visiting next month. I encourage anyone who is interested in this new sport to attend our taster sessions as it will give you an opportunity to build your confidence, determination, self-discipline and self-reliance”.
Further details about the public taster sessions will be available in coming weeks and promoted on our website www.guernseysports.com. Teachers interested in attending the teacher training course can find our more information by contacting Jenny Murphy at the Guernsey Sports Commission.
