The Praxis Group has appointed Rupert Pleasant as managing director of Praxis Fiduciaries (Switzerland) SA.
Having joined the Praxis Group in January 2012, Mr Pleasant held the role of executive director at the firm and in his new role will continue to focus on developing the Swiss market for the group along with establishing and managing relationships with key partners in the UK, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr Pleasant said: “Developing new markets for Praxis is a key strategic objective and I am looking forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to achieve our business development goals and expand our client base.”
Mr Pleasant has over 20 years’ experience within the international finance industry, having worked in banking and trust roles in London, Hong Kong, Guernsey, and South Africa, before moving to Switzerland. He also holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI).
Rob Fearis, Praxis Group director, said: “Rupert brings with him a wealth of experience to the role as a result of working in the international finance industry for 20 years. His experience of different jurisdictions will enable us to extend the Praxis offering into new markets.
“We are pleased to welcome Rupert to the role and I’m sure he will continue to deliver a high quality service to current and prospective clients across a variety of jurisdictions.”
Mr Pleasant has taken over the role of managing director from Fritha Beck who has stepped down in order to spend more time with her young family. Mrs Beck has stayed with the company as a director and will retain responsibility for the Group’s fiduciary operations in Geneva.
“Fritha has played a significant role in establishing the business in Geneva and Rupert was an obvious choice as her successor,” said Mr Fearis.
