The Guernsey Sports Commission are proud to announce the return of coaching workshop & training opportunities next year. These courses are provided to allow sports coaches, sports leaders, volunteers and anyone with an interest in furthering their sporting ability.
These courses are provided to ensure that coaches can remain skilled, and can continue their continued professional development (CPD). These courses are also provided to enable all coaches to fulfil the minimum standards for deployment required by a range of National Sporting Governing Bodies.
The courses are led by experienced coaches with a real passion for their subject. The workshops are easily tailored to the specific learning needs and styles of the audience. They are conveniently held at local venues and are organised to take place usually in the evenings or at the weekend.
Oliver Tracey, workshop organiser at the commission highlighted that “the workshops are run in a relaxed and unintimidating atmosphere and are run in small groups so you can share your experiences with other coaches to find practical solutions that work”. All courses are nationally recognised and come with a certificate of attendance and a valuable resource that you can refer back to time and time again.
In 2013 we are offering a selection of courses from Sport Wales & St. John Ambulance and the first set of workshops are due to take place in March. They include First Aid for Sport, Safeguarding & Protecting Children & Equity in your coaching. These courses are offered on island and for a small fee you can safeguard yourself and others when coaching and help save lives within sport.
