Over 220 students came together at Rue Maingy for the Sixth Form Centre’s annual Team Building Day on Friday, 6 September. The Year 12 students took part in a variety of physical, mental and problem-solving activities designed to get them working and thinking as a team.
Now in its seventh year, the event is an ideal opportunity for the students to get to know each other in a relaxed and social environment. It is sponsored by RBC Wealth Management, which has committed to supported the initiative for the next three years.
Kieran James, Director of Sixth Form Studies said: ‘We have students joining the Sixth Form from each of the high schools, the Grammar School and the colleges, as well as further afield. It can be quite a daunting experience to turn up to school on your first day and be confronted with so many new faces. An event like this is invaluable in laying the groundwork for forming new friendships as well as renewing old ones, and we’re extremely grateful to RBC for their continued generosity to enable us to do this.’
Alan Hunt from RBC Wealth Management’s Leadership Team, who attended the event along with other RBC staff, said: ‘Some of our employees that helped out at the event are former Sixth Form Centre students themselves, and they have spoken about what a rewarding time they had during their studies. Many friendships formed today will last a lifetime and we are delighted to once again be supporting such a rewarding and stimulating occasion for many of the Island’s Sixth Form students.’
