A VERY SPARKLY TOP TEMP
Guernsey News, 10 November 2009 – Having spent the last five months working on a building site, Source Temps’ first Star Temp has treated herself to something glamorous.
Kristine Hando chose a stunning diamond pendant as her reward for receiving the best feedback from her employer Woolf Construction.
When Source Recruitment launched its specialist temps service three months ago, it devised an innovative feedback scheme to ensure that each temp had met the employer’s requirements. Each week a company gives its temp a score in five key areas, which are collated over three months and the temp with the highest score is given the chance to choose from a list of luxury prizes.
‘Our innovative grading system allows good temps to shine. All too often temps are under appreciated and overlooked but they really do add value to an organisation and with Source Temps’ system, their hard work will be noticed,’ said senior consultant Becky Dean.
‘Judging by the consistently high scores she received, Kristine has clearly made a good impression and made a valuable contribution to Woolf and we’re delighted that she has been rewarded for her hard work.’
Miss Hando, 29, has been working as a commercial department administrator for the company in its Royal site office.
‘It’s a high pressure environment and so I haven’t had a lot of time to explain the tasks but she is so efficient that she has self-learnt. She has a good and vibrant personality and although it’s a male-dominated environment, she has broken down any barriers and has become a valuable member of the team,’ said Rory Torr from Woolf.
Miss Hando has been temping for 10 years and this is her third time working for Woolf.
‘Temping is so convenient because I wanted to combine working with travelling and studying. I have completed a degree and been all over world and I am about to go to France for five months to do massage therapy in a ski resort.’
She was given the choice of a hand-made designer suit, designer handbag or shoes, £1,000 donation to charity or a weekend for two in Jersey but decided on a diamond pendant from Paints the Jewellers.
‘It was a really nice phone call to receive when I heard I had won. I wanted something I could keep and diamonds are also my birthstone. It’s great working for Woolf, they are a great group of people and I am so pleased to be the first Star Temp,’ she said.
