STEP Guernsey consider trustee investment issues

| April 28, 2014 | 0 Comments

Trustee investment and the issues that Guernsey fiduciaries should consider before establishing an investment strategy is the topic of this month’s STEP Guernsey lunchtime lecture, sponsored by Collas Crill.

Speaker Justin Oliver, Investment Director at CanAccord Genuity Wealth Management, will provide trustees with an overview of the main asset classes available for investment, highlighting the advantages and drawbacks of each.

“In particular, I will outline why holding cash in the bank may not always be the safest form of investment; what different yield measures in bonds actually show; balancing risk and return in equities and alternative investments – what they are and how may they be used within a portfolio,” said Justin.

Justin Oliver is part of the multi-manager team providing discretionary portfolio management services to institutions, intermediaries and private clients and has been with the organisation for 13 years. He manages several of the CanAccord Genuity Select Funds, is deputy Chairman of the Fund Selection Committee and a member of the Asset Allocation Committee. Justin is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and is a former President of the Guernsey Branch of the Institute.

The event takes place on Friday 25th April 2014 at Old Government House Hotel.
