Last week the GSPCA received a very special delivery at the Animal Shelter.
Often we accept animals and we are always grateful to donations in all their various forms from animal feed to cheques.
Last week a very nice gift arrived for the team of staff and volunteers at the Shelter from Claire’s Cakes which was as a result of Sure’s Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) initiative.
Lucy Ogier one of the staff at the Shelter nominated the team at the GSPCA and we were lucky enough to receive the wonderful box of cakes last week.
SURE extended its Random Acts of Kindness initiative and this year more than 2,000 islanders received an unexpected gift including croissants, fuel, cakes, flowers, films, personal gifts and flights.
Random Acts of Kindness is a worldwide initiative, which encourages people to step out of their normal routine and attempt a random act of kindness.
This year’s Random Act of Kindness Week was between 10 – 16 February but Sure decided to extend its to six weeks.
Lucy Ogier Animal Care Assistant said ‘The Sure’s Random Act of Kindness is a wonderful thing to do and we are so grateful to have been one of those places that received a gift.’
‘The GSPCA is an amazing place to work as we see acts of kindness for animals every day and its nice that Sure are trying to extend this to everyone in Guernsey.’
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said ‘The cakes were lovely and thank you to Claire’s Cakes and Sure for the Random Act of Kindness it was much appreciated and brought a smile to the teams face here at the GSPCA.’
