A photovoltaic solar panel designer and installer has stepped in to help E-Si customers following its liquidation.
The Little Green Energy Company will make every effort to complete all of the former renewable energy company’s domestic and commercial projects.
‘We have contacted many E-Si customers over the past weeks to give them some comfort that their projects agreed will be completed by The Little Green Energy Company to the highest standards,’ said Simon Dudson, The Little Green Energy Company managing director.
‘Without the involvement and investment of a dedicated renewable energy company Guernsey would be left in a renewable energy void. The Little Green Energy Company will not let this happen and the team is committed in its efforts to promote and encourage renewable energy locally.
‘Solar energy is a commercially viable technology, which is proven to lower carbon footprint and protect against rising energy bills by producing free electricity for homes and businesses.’
Mr Dudson, who is experienced in solar and renewable energy, founded The Little Green Energy Company in Kent.
The Little Green Energy Company has now been operating on the island for the past nine months and has been instrumental in advising the States of Guernsey on its renewable energy development.
Sadly, when E-Si went into liquidation The Little Green Energy Company was concerned that the passion and investment of E-Si over many years would be lost. This investment and knowledge had to be maintained and Mr Dudson immediately offered his experience and professionalism to continue the drive for renewables in Guernsey.
The Little Green Energy Company is the only Channel Islands renewable energy company that is a member of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. It is also a member of the Renewable Energy Association. The company specialises in photovoltaic solar panels, air source heat pumps and solar thermal and wind turbines.
‘Guernsey is in a unique position when it comes to solar energy, as on the island we are able to benefit from 20% higher yields from the solar panels than in the UK’ said Mr Dudson.
‘Renewable energy is not just about being ‘green’, it’s also about the economy and reducing costs by using more sustainable methods to generate power. The long-term effects of renewable energy are of huge benefit for everyone.
‘As more and more people become aware of the benefits of renewable energy in Guernsey and the business grows, we would like to expand and train local staff, on the island.’
