TWO PROFESSIONALS SHARE EXPERTISE AT STEP LECTURES
Guernsey News, 13 November 2009 – A tax expert and a lawyer will take to the stage next week to talk trusts for the latest in the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) lectures, sponsored by Collins Stewart Wealth Management.
Tony Mancini, tax director at KPMG, will discuss the subject: ‘Shifting sands – the impact of international tax initiatives on Guernsey’ at an evening lecture on Thursday 19 November at the OGH Hotel.
The presentation will discuss recent developments in tax and how they will have an impact on Guernsey, the continuing G20 and OECD initiative on tax transparency, the Michael Foot report and future tax reform on the island.
Beginning at 5.30pm, the talk is aimed at leading fiduciary professionals.
Mark Ferbrache,a partner of AFR Advocates, will highlight some of the key provisions to be found in trust deeds at the lunchtime lecture on Friday 20 November.
He will examine the differences between powers and duties and the consequences for breaching fiduciary obligations.
The lecture will last approximately 45 minutes, with registration at 11.45am, beginning at 12pm at the OGH Hotel, and is aimed at up and coming trust professionals.
