A Guernsey travel agent has promoted two members of staff to its senior management team.
Sam Fusellier has been appointed as Manager of Wayfarers Travel’s retail division, and Sheena Le Prevost as Manager of its Business Travel department. Both are based at Wayfarers Travel’s offices on The Bridge in St Sampson’s.
Guernsey-born Sam completed work experience at the company in 2005 and joined permanently in July of that year as a Trainee Travel Consultant. Her enthusiasm, dedication and exceptional relationships with her clients is reflected in her promotion. Sam has travelled the world extensively with her role to date, and is a specialist on South Africa, Vietnam and cruising in particular.
Sheena, who is also Guernsey-born, joined Wayfarers in 2001 after enjoying a long and distinguished career in the travel industry. After leaving school she began work for Air UK as an air hostess before taking an airport-based position with Servisair where she was Supervisor of ground handling arrangements for British European (now Flybe). The move into leisure travel called and Sheena worked for a local agent before joining Wayfarers. As well as leading the company’s Business Travel team, she is responsible for managing the complex travel requirements of companies including Generali, HSBC and AON, and the States of Guernsey.
Wayfarers Travel is part of the Online Regional Travel Group (ORTG), the largest offshore travel group in the British Isles. As well as having leisure and business travel divisions in Guernsey, it also has leisure and business travel companies in Jersey (Bellingham Travel) and the Isle of Man (Mann Link Travel and Richmond Travel).
Brian Kelly, CEO of ORTG, commented: “Both Sam and Sheena’s promotions reflect the huge amount of hard work and dedication they have shown to both their individual clients and the Wayfarers Travel brand since they began their careers here, and it gives me great pleasure to reward them by promoting them to the senior management team. Our clients can rest assured they are in very experienced hands when dealing with Sam, Sheena and any of their team members.”
Sam Fusellier commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed as Manager of Wayfarers Travel’s retail division, especially at such an exciting time in the company’s development when we have so many new launches in the pipeline. I have a fantastic and very experienced team behind me and collectively we’re looking forward to sending the residents of Guernsey on many more holidays in the future!”
Reflecting on her promotion, Sheena Le Prevost said: “Since I joined Wayfarers thirteen years ago, I have amassed an extensive knowledge of the local business travel market and built up some incredibly strong relationships with my clients. I look forward to continuing these in my new role as Business Travel Manager and to welcoming new clients as we move into 2014 and beyond.”
