As part of Waitrose commitment to the local coomunity, the Admiral Park branch will open up its café to the Annual Review of Girlguiding Guernsey later this month.
Local guides and group leaders will be joined by South West Region Commissioner Solange Rebours at the meeting at 7.15pm on Thursday 24 November, to reflect on the past 12 months and plan ahead for 2012.
Afterwards, Guiders will have the chance to catch up with their colleagues and friends over coffee and cakes.
Allen Edwards, Branch Manager of Waitrose Admiral Park is pleased to be able to accommodate the group.
“Helping out local groups such as Girlguiding is an important part of our contribution to the community. We realise that it’s not always just funds that groups may need but also other things such as meeting places or even additional volunteers – being held in such a central community location the meeting will also hopefully help raise the profile of Girlguiding in the island,” he said.
Both Waitrose Admiral Park and Waitrose Rohais also have community rooms which local charities and causes can use for meetings. For more information, groups can contact the branches on 729222 or 729888 respectively.
Going into its centenary year, Assistant Bailiwick Commissioner Yvonne Le Page spoke proudly of the organisation.
“We have come a long way in 100 years and through the many activities we have planned for the coming year we hope to show how modern, relevant and exciting Girlguiding is for both the girls and adult leaders,” she said.
