The award winning Maelgwn Choir will be performing in St James’ Concert Hall next month in aid of the Guernsey Cheshire Home and CLIC Sargent.
The charity fundraising evening, featuring 38 singers from the successful male voice choir, will be taking place on Saturday 26 October at 7.30pm supported by local choirs Welsh Boys Aloud and Les Chansonelles.
As well as a selection of traditional Welsh hymns, the evening will also feature performances of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah,’ Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘Speed your journey,’ as well as ‘Do you hear the people sing,’ from the musical Le Miserables. Welsh Boys Aloud will also be joining the Maelgwn on stage for a joint performance.
The choir have benefited from a number of donations enabling them to return to the island including Specsavers, Saffery Champness and others. These valuable contributions have allowed proceeds from the ticket sales to go to the two local charities.
The Guernsey Cheshire Home provides care to those with serious physical disabilities whilst CLIC Sargent supports Bailiwick children, and their families, going through cancer.
A raffle will take place during the evening. Tickets are £12; £10 senior citizens and students and £8 restricted view and will be available from St James’ Box Office or from Karen Meagher on email@example.com or 07781 146650. Parking has kindly been provided by Elizabeth College.
